MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives on Thursday held a people's budget review with 21 civil society organizations (CSOs) in what would be the "first of many, many engagements."

Nueva Ecija 1st District Rep. Mikaela Angela Suansing, chairman of the Committee on Appropriations thanked the participants for "all of your inputs for today and we look forward to receiving your position papers,... completed staff work of all... technical inputs that you would share with the committee, your interpellation questions that can be championed by the vice chairs of the committee on appropriations." The House said that the 21 CSOs were accredited to observe its 2026 budget deliberations.

Suansing said that "we will make sure that this budget is people-centered."
